Pack It Right (Part 1)
Every one of us has one major dilemma that we face before hitting our vacation haven and that is none other than, the packing dilemma! This is inevitable especially to travelers who wish to bring the whole closet and believe you me, some might even pack the whole house if they could. Problem is, even if we are not flying, we are still guided by certain limitations on how much things we can carry (i.e. luggage capacity and car load capacity). To help you deal with this predicament, let me present to you what I call the golden rules of packing.
Clothes Control.
Unless you’re going to a fashion Shoot in New York or Paris for that matter, you’re not gonna be needing all the contents of your closet. Bring what you think is necessary. It is nice to think of what outfit you need for each day. Instead of wearing light clothes and accessories, why not choose the dark ones? They hide dirt and stains so you need not to change every now and then. This is especially appropriate for t-shirt, jackets, coats, scarf, belts and even jeans! Bring a pair or two of shoes that will complement all your planned attire for the entire trip. Remember to have enough undies! You don’t want to be short on them!
Gadgets Rule.
Gadget for communication and entertainment that is! I am not suggesting your whole entertainment system with the flat screen TV, movie player, surround sound equipments and all. If you wanna have them, you gotta be resourceful and bring handy versions of your home entertainment system—mp3 player, travel or portable speakers, game consoles, etc. Board games and playing cards also do the trick when it comes to breaking the ice. It is also important to take with you your GPRS, laptop or palm top, and your mobile phone (don’t forget to secure the charger and extra battery cell if you can).
To be continued…
