Pack It Right (Part 2)
Hygiene Alert
If towels, bathroom slippers, toothbrush, toothpaste, soap and shampoo are provided by the hotel or resort where you will be staying, then lessen your toiletries baggage by eliminating those things. Just grab your deo, hand and body lotion, contact lens solution, cotton, wet ones, alcohol, etc. Repack them into a smaller container. This way, you will get to leave the bulky part of them.
Safety First
Aside from the first aid kit that you should never ever take for granted, you must also take care of your medication in case you have a heart problem, migraine, asthma attack, car sickness, and other medical ailments that concern you. Carry with you portable medical equipments such as nebulizers, heart rate monitoring machines, etc. Temperatures and altitudes can directly affect some conditions so do check with your family physician. Put everything in an emergency box, mini tin or bag and keep it always within your reach (i.e. nightstand of your hotel room, or globe compartment of your vehicle).
Food and Money
Lastly, bag food and money and everything will be all set. Bringing too much cash is dangerous. Prepare just enough cash and credit everything else to your card. And for emergency purposes, have your ATM cards ready and remember to check the location of the ATM machines in the place you are about to go first for your piece of mind. As for the food, granola bars, cereals, cookies, and healthy chips are the good ones to pack. Avoid greasy food because you don’t want get all the trouble that oil can give when travelling. Also, these dry goods are safer to bring—no fuss, no leak, no mess. If you are on a trip with kids, remember when to give or keep the sweets. They are energy boosters so you don’t want their sugar rush when they are already overexcited about your vacation.
There you have it. Packing made easy! Now, you don’t have to fret yourself about bagging everything you need in your trip. All you have to remember is the most important concept: pack light and pack just the necessary.
