A recent study shows that Wii has little effect on family fitness.

A study conducted by a professor of helth and exercise science at the University of Mississippi concludes this by tracking eight families for a span of six months to see if this console will have noticeable effects on the fitness levels of his sample. His studies show that the changes on their fitness level were negligible.

In fall of 2008, he conducted the study to determine whether like Nintendo’s Wii Fit can improve the family fitness. Eight families from Oxford, Mississippi used the system for three months and their fitness levels were then tracked. The families were given three months with Wii and three months without.

Basically, the study concludes that: “Modest amounts of daily Wii Fit use may have provided insufficient stimulus for fitness changes.”

Obviously, this study does not say that Wii Fit will turn you into a fat slob, something that you wouldn’t need this holliday season.

The Wii Fit still raises your heart level as you swing the joystick. And swinging that joystick still serves as aerobic exercise which is still good.

If you’re looking for fun, the games from Gadgetepoint will provide you the entertainment that you need this holliday season.
