Considering the success of the XBox 360, Microsoft had recently announced that it will soon release “Project Natal” in the Xbox 360. Project Natal is set for gesture recognition games, making the human body the controller of the actions in the video games. It is set to be released end of 2010, a rather short wait for such an amazing feature. “2010 is going to be the biggest year in Xbox history,” Robbie Bach, the head of Microsoft’s entertainment and devices division said.
This is something which most gamers look forward to, as the controller is said to be the last barrier to gaming. This is a new way to play, but it is completely natural. Project Natal is set to use a 3-D camera and a software which is to recognize the gesture of the player, allowing the gamer to use natural body movements for instead of those pesky handheld controllers. Something which most parents could probably be excited about as the game is elevated to an even more physical level.
Natal allows for players to play driving games by imitating a turning motion as if in the car steering wheel. Boxing, skateboarding, soccer are going to come alive with the Natal Xbox 360.
