Go forth and blog
The Vatican urges priests to blog.
Pope Bendict XVI urges priests to get their message done online through blogging to reach a wider and more diverse market.
“Go forth and blog.” he says.
The modern day Catholic priest, because of certain religious restrictions, cannot follow what has been commanded to Moses and his fellows. They cannot “go forth and multiply”, instead the commandment for them is for them to “go forth and blog”
Instead of being familiar with Math or reproductive functions, priests should be familiar with the internet to get God’s message across to the younger minds.
The pope adds that young priests should be more familiar with present day media while still in their respective seminaries, though he points out that the use of these new technologies should reflect theological and religious principles.
According to the Vatican, using simple email or surfing the web is just not enough. Priests should use the latest in technologies to express themselves and the Word of God and have a positive impact on their communities.
We might be seeing an iPhone app about church visits any day soon. Or how about games in Wii about giving Commuinion?
That would be interesting, just like the latest toys from Gadgetepoint.
