Beware of free USBs
Free USB flash drives? Why not?
“Nay” says MI5’s Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure.
In a 14 page restricted report by MI5, the security service has accused the far eastern world giant, China, of implanting bugs and stealing information from British business executives.
The USB freebie from certain Chinese spies are intended to blackmail the UK business moguls to divulge confidential commercial information.
The bugs contained in these USB flash drives and even some of their giveaway cameras, according to the MI5, were found to contain Trojan bugs which provide the Asian hackers access to the computers that they have infected.
“Any UK company might be at risk if it holds information which would benefit the Chinese,” stated the report.
The report from the British security service warns businessmen of hotel rooms in many Chinese cities such as Beijing and Shanghai as they are likely to be bugged by cameras as well.
Nothing would stop the Chinese from getting information that would benefit them. They’ve been trying to lure in prominent names with sexual favors just to get what they need.
We say, “nay!”, to reports such as these. These would just tarnish the already iffy diplomatic relationship between the world giants.
