But the said research states that because its a plasma TV, it will cause less eye strain compared to the current market authority which is the LCD screen.

The researhc was conducted by gathering 31 male and female participants in front of two kinds of TV sets — one plasma and another LCD. The participants were made to watch 45 minutes of a video compsed of advertisments, action movie clips and another movie clip from a more visually subtle movie.

There were less pupil diameter variation for the participants when they were watching from a plasma TV to an LCD screen even if both sets have similar brightness. The difference was more noticeable when watching the more visually stimulating clips like the action movie and the advertisements.

There were also less eye movement seen on the participants as the watched from the plasma screen while watching the action movie, there were no noticeable differences when it came to the more placid and calmer movie clip.
