The Nintendo Wii’s dominance in the console gaming world has been an uncontested truth for the past 4 years. The Playstation 3 and the Microsoft Xbox 360 have been trying for years to best their competition, but with the Nintendo Wii entertaining casual gamers and getting a hust chunk of the market, the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360 could only look upon the Wii, admire it and try to see what it does differently.

The difference is obvious and Sony tries a different tone this time: if you can’t beat them, join them. Sony released the “PlayStation Move”, the motion control system of the PS3.Sony conceded that Nintendo might be right that it’s not always graphics and deeply engrossing storylines that gets gamers, sometimes it’s just plain, simple, fun. That’s what the Nintendo Wii banked on.

The Playstation Move lures gamers who have outgrown the Nintendo console, it’s trying to pick up where the Wii left off, and tries to do it better.

Peter Dillem senior vice president of marketing for Sony Computer Entertainment gives thanks to the guys in Nintendo for leading the way and “introducing motion gaming to the masses.”

Dille adds: “The migration path from the Wii household to the PlayStation 3 household is a pretty natural path, partly because of the experience that you can get on the PlayStation Move but also because of the content that we find on PlayStation 3,”
