Dungeon Fighter Online a free to play beat em up game with RPG elements is on the verge of having a whopping 200 million registrations as it reaches its 197th million yesterday.

The game that is very reminiscent of Campcom’s arcade staple, Dungeons and Dragons, has established a remarkable Chinese fanbase, hence, the numbers.

This strategy of tapping into and reeling in the Chinese market has been a very effective move for the company as the country’s billions of citizens becomes a very useful statistic for the record breaking game.

Dungeon Fighter Online was able to achieve 2 million concurrent connections in China recently, a record that no other game was able to achieve.

The game will be fully released in the North American region this June and the numbers are expected to exceed the 200 million mark as 3 million North American registrants are not a far cry from this game with a very positive reception from its Chinese followers.

The game is extremely popular in China, but South Korea also has its fair share of Dungeon Fighter enthusiasts, summing up to at least 200,000.

The game was orignially released in South Korea around four years ago. Their reception was rather lukewarm, but once the game reached the Chinese audience two years ago, the outcome became unimaginable from NeoPle, the game’s developer.
