Do cell phones cause cancer?
There have been speculations that one of the most commonly owned electronic device can be a cause of cancer. This is the reason why the united Nations dedicated $24 million dollars in a study that spans fir a decade that suggests that frequent cell phone use may increase the chances of developing a type of brain cancer.
The same radioactive energy caused by microwave ovens which have been notorious for detrimental effects on the cells of our body are the same radioactive energy found in cell pones, the difference between the two are the waves emitted by the cellphone.
Giloma, the said form of brain cancer has latency period of 25 years. And the cell phone hasn’t been used widely for that long and the experts were unanious in saying that the said research is inconclusive. We cannot tell for sure yet whether cell phone usage is a culprit for developing cancer cells.
But there must be a need to reduce the radiation emitted by cell phones. The survey conducted by the United Nations from 2000 to 2010 of almost 13,000 participants found a whopping 40% higher incidence of the cancer among the top 10 percent of people who were using their mobile phones more often.
