There have been claims that Nintendo’s gaming console has positive effects in a person’s cardiovascular functions, but these claims were often relegated into the background and these researches were said to be inconclusive.

Well, the Wii has the American Heart Association to back up such researches.

On Monday, Nintendo and the American Heart Association (AHA) are joining in on a campaign to promote an active and a healthier lifestyle through the physical activities made more enjoyable by the Wii and the Wii Fit.

In pursuit of this thrust, Nintendo is set to have a health summit where medical and other industry professionals will tackle the emerging issue of the lack of physical activity in many children and and other age groups as well.

The AHA sees that the Wii may actually be a very effective partner in achieving this goal and tackling the issue of child obesity. They are now giving Nintendo Wii their official endorsement so that people will start believing the researches that prove the health benefits of the Wii.

Who’s going to say that such studies are inconclusive now?
