iPad can cater to fat fingers, sumo wrestlers attest
Imagine an iPhone, or an iPod Touch. Visualize a sumo wrestler nad his hugely proportioned body; imagine his fingers.
And we all know that it’s impending doom for the handheld device.
Imagine all that weight on his fingers pressing on the the minute handheld device, and we can only pity the fate of that particular iPhone.
Fortunately, that’s not the case for the iPad.
The Japan Sumo Association is set to distribute 60 iPads among the 51 training stables all across thier country.
The distribution of the device will help improve communication.
“Sending emails was very easy.” said one of the association chiefs in one of the stables.
The iPad became the communicator of choice for these not-so-light warriors as the device was big enough to cater to the far fingers of these wrestlers.
The stables are planning to go digital if they intend to save the dignity of the sport. With their reliance and phone calls and faxes, the sumo association was not able to address the concerns that they faced like scandals over illegal gambling, match-fixing, and unnecessary and brutal hazing towards many of the apprentices.
The insufficient sharing of information among sumo leaders led to an inefficient effort to investigate these pressing issues.
