Gameloft’s Shadow Guardian to redefine casual gaming
There are a number of boundaries that Shadow Guardian, a game for the iPhone by Gameloft, aims to break, with all the characteristics of the game that sets it apart from its competition, Shadow Guardian is dubbed as a game that can change the landscape of casual gaming.
For one, the game’s graphics are truly beyond its competitors in the platform, in fact naysayers are doubtful if the iPhone can even handle the game’s graphics as it uses four-times as many polygons in its 3D renders than former Gameloft title Avatar. And graphically, Avatar is an exceptional game.
Tomb Raider has Lara Croft; Shadow Guardian has Jason Call. The protagonist of the game is met with a number of puzzles and fast paced action to be able to meet his objective. Expect a lot of climbing, and jumping, and swinging, and all the good stuff from platform games. Expect a some shooting action as well, but the puzzles are good enough to have you hooked that it’s shooting gameplay system, though good, hides behind the shadow of the mental challenges.
Games in handheld consoles and casual games are notorious for being too short — not Shadow Guardian.
Even those with a PHD in expert gaming will take at least four hours to finish the game, that’s if they skip the beautifully voiced and graphically appealing cut scenes.
We know you’re dying to get a hold of this game for your iPhone, the game will be released this Christmas and for £3.99, critics are saying that it’s quite a bargain.
