For a refreshing change, a bit of good news… the iPad2 will sell cheaper than the iPad1 in the UK.
Apple has officially announced that the iPad2, which will go on sale in the UK at 5pm on Friday, shall cost significantly less than the launch price of its predecessor, the iPad1. Prices start at £ 399 for the 16 GB WiFi model, £ 30 cheaper than the launch price of the same iPad1 model original last year. The most costly in the line is the 64 GB WiFi with 3G iPad2 model which will be sold at £ 659, £ 40 less than the same model of the original iPad1 release.
Delays in the iPad2 launch owing to shortages have been rumored; however, Apple assured the public that the tablet computer will definitely go on sale in 25 countries on Friday; these include Australia, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, and Spain. In April, iPad2 will be available in Hong Kong, Korea, and Singapore, Apple confirmed.
Analysts estimate that Apple sold between 400,000 and 500,000 iPad2 units within the first weekend after it went on sale on March 11 this year in the US.
