Instagram seems to have dominated the photo-editing scene as photo-sharing site Picplz shuts down and says goodbye on June 3.

Picplz was one of the earlier and direct competitors of Instagram. It is to shut down and close shop on July 3.

“On July 3, 2012, picplz will shut down permanently and all photos and data will be deleted. Until then, you can log in and download your photos by clicking on the download link next to each photo in your photo feed. Thank you for your support of picplz and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.”

Picplz had announced. Many are not surprised as Instagram, which was recently acquired by Facebook seem to be heading the photo-filtering/photo-sharing business. Both apps had the ability to upload and edit photos through the different filters of the app but it seems that Instagram had the winning hand in terms of easy usability and number of users which made it easier for it to become very popular, even having Instagram fans begging to have an actual camera made after the app.

Picplz users have about a month to download their photos from the cloud.

Surely you would not have these problems if you use analog. The magic of analog photography is alive in the wonderful cameras available over at Gadgetepoint.
