It’s appropriately called iWitness. It’s an app for the iPhone, but Android users will also get to experience the app in due time.

Launch the app when you are about to enter a potentially threatening environment. The app then makes your iPhone blink to alert you and any person who has bad intentions that the app is turned on. On the other side, it catches attention, which isn’t ideal in every potentially dangerous scenario.

One touch on your screen and your phone will starts audio and video recording. The recording contains your GPS coordinates for added safety. This recording is also being transmitted to a server and the authorities will then be able to see what is happening.

Another touch on your phone will be appropriate for emergency situations as the app automatically dials 911 for you. Another safety feature is a message will be sent to six preselected contacts.

To maintain the subscription to the application, one would have to spend 4 bucks on a monthly basis, which isn’t too much, considering the safety features of the iWitness.
