Twitter Breaks Up with LinkedIn
It’s not you, it’s me. – Twitter to LinkedIn.
Twitter has ended its Tweet syndication to LinkedIn causing hearts to be broken with those using the Twitter-LinkedIn integration.
When Twitter was a bit too young, it liked to syndicate with everybody. Its APIs were used by pretty much every social-networking website in order to get more users to join them. This was the case for Twitter and LinkedIn.
Twitter announced that it has ended its tweet syndication partnership with LinkedIn. It is in line with Twitter’s shift towards user experience. Before this, LinkedIn was allowed to syndicate the tweets of users in their activity stream. Because of the recent updates in the Twitter experience, users can now experience expandable tweets, threaded conversations, etc. Something which users can only experience in-site and which users using LinkedIn do not experience.
This move by Twitter may prove unsafe for others apps such as Tweetbot, Hootsuite, and Seesmic, which if they do not update their user experience could take the ax and cause Twitter to break up with them as well. It seems that the social network site will be rolling out more updates soon.
