Tired of your speakers being shattered or breaking up in pieces when you drop it? Well, the speakers by Shmuel Linski isn’t a sensible alternative option.

Well, the speakers from the Israeli industrial and product design student weighs 60 pounds each, that’s because their made of concrete.

And concrete seems to be his favorite material as he has also made a canoe and even a coffee maker from the solid and sturdy materiel.

So the problem of them shattering when you drop them is a non-existent problem since hoisting the 60 pound speaker is a problem in itself, but remember there are two speakers, so that means you’d be having two problems.

Durability? Of course it’s durable, the concrete speakers are made with, you guessed it right, concrete.

The driver and port are linked with the bass at the bottom and the driver at the top. THe port and the driver are linked by a 38-inch pipe; however, it is not lined with any sound-absorbent material, so that’s minus points for the concrete speakers.

As to the effect of the concrete to the actual sound quality, we’re not sure if there’s anything else noteworthy.

But hey, at least you know it’s durable.

Other quirky and cute stuff are available at Gadgetepoint.

If you’re a tough guy whose into gardening and you think that garden gnomes and flamingoes border on the pansy side of things, how about adding a Giant Burmese Python Snake to your garden’s repertoire.

Not only will you be attracting a lot of attention from your neighbours, you’ll also get a hefty number of reports from animal control groups to get rid of that scary, slithering reptile, until they visit your lawn and realize that the Giant Burmese Python Snake in your garden is only a replica.

A double take is expected, but every now and then expect a scream of fright, but will you be held responsible for the monthly number of patients that fainted from fear that are reported near your garden’s vicinity?

At nearly eight-feet long, the snake replica is made of high quality resin and craftily hand-painted to the most intricate of details.

The product is available from Toscano and costs roughly $400, a huge price to pay for a fake snake; but the look from your shocked neighbors — priceless.

But if you’re not willing to be bugged by neighbours demanding that you pay their medical expenses after they’re rushed to emergency rooms, you might want to try something safer, yet still fun from Gadgetepoint.

“Any resemblance between Dancing Zombie and persons living or dead is purely coincidental” — that’s not what the estate of Michael Jackson thinks and the King of Pop’s dearly departed demands PopCap to remove the back-up dancer summoning zombie out of Plants vs. Zom ies.

The undead version caricature of the King of Pop was in the game even before he has passed away; but with the resemblance was too close to the image of Michael Jackson in the music video of Thriller resulting to some complaints from the Estate.

“The Estate of Michael Jackson objected to our use of the ‘dancing zombie’ in Plants vs. Zombies based on its view that the zombie too closely resembled Michael Jackson. After receiving this objection, PopCap made a business decision to retire the original ‘dancing zombie.’” stated PopCap’s rep in a statement issued by MTV’s Multiplayer blog.

Dancing Zombie gets a makeover, and becomes groovier than his predecessor; Even the description changed for this revision in Dancing Zombie, “Dancing Zombie’s latest album, “GrarrBRAINSarblarbl,” is already rocketing up the undead charts.”

The sunflower has got it all wrong as zombies visiting the lawn, or pool, or even the roof has been one of the biggest hits to casual gamers last year.

People can’t get enough of zombies invading their PCs and Macs , and the publishers are thinking that it might be a good idea for Plants vs. Zombies to make a console debut — to the Xbox Live Arcade.

The release date will be some time in September but the entire details and the full enhancements, price and other details are still indefinite as the there is no word from yet from PopCap.

The tower defense has been such a huge hit. It could be because of the wit of the descriptions, the well thought of gameplay, the strategizing, or the cute graphics; there are a number of reasons why the game has been such a fan favorite and we’re sure that the game is a welcome addition to any platform.

Can the internet and moderm day electronics be robbing the authenticity of some of the things? Well, that’s one thing of looking at it. The other is that it’s much more convenient. Take a look at the iQuarium HD, it’s an aquarium for your iPhone.

Sure, the iQuarium is so much different from the real thing but the advantage of the iQuarium over the wet and real aquarium is that for one, the price, it’s only a dollar, compared to an aquarium where you have to think about the fish bowl, the fish itself, the decorations, and even the maintenance.

Another advantage is that you wouldn’t have to clean up for anything. No messy fish tank, no wet floor, nor do you need to scoop out any dead fish. You also need to think about what you would feed them. With the iQuarium, you still need to feed your beloved fish, except that of course, you feed them electronically. We know you’re smart enough not to put fish pellets in your iPhone…

The iQuarium is a virtual tank in your iPhone. Keep the fish happy and you’ll see it grow into a joyously swimming Parrot Cichlid fish. Forget mealtime and you’ll have a floating creature that used to be a living fish.

You can also effortlessly design your aquarium to your liking, you can purchase another fish, attractive decors and change the background with the fish points that you get from feeding your fish.

If gadgets and electronics are your thing, Gadgetepoint is the place to be.

So you hate cats?

You hate the stench of their excrements, or the sound that they make in the wee hours of the night, or the balls of fur that they seem to leave everywhere that they go to, or maybe you hate the mess that they can leave when they storm into your property?

We might not know the reason for your abhorrence to the felines but we’re sure that the ContechCatStop Ultrasonic Outdoor Cat Deterrent is something that you would feel much love for.

Of course the ContechCatStop Ultrasonic Outdoor Cat Deterrent wouldn’t hurt cats, it’s just the noise that this product emits that will keep those pesky furred animals away.

But wouldn’t you be bothered by the sound as well? Not really. The ultrasonic sound that comes out of the ContechCatStop Ultrasonic Outdoor Cat Deterrent is bound to be heard only by cats within a 330 square feet radius.

The sturdy, weather proof cat repellent required a 9 volt battery to be operational. And retails for £35.

For £14.49, you could purchase a repellent that keeps bugs and other pests away, and disgust towards these critters maybe something more universal than the lack of good emotions towards cats. If you’re pestered by these pests, Gadgetepoint’s Ultrasonic Pest Control Repeller is something more appropriate.

Here on Gadgetepoint, green is totally in these days! And by green, we’re talking about fighting global warming and saving our dear Mother Earth.

It’s cool that people from almost all corners of the world are starting to show care for the environment. It’s about time we do too. It would always be nice to get on our feet and join campaigns to stop this world crisis even in our own little ways. Here’s how:

Start with the lights. It would be best to replace our light bulbs with energy saving alternatives such as those so called LEDs. If we all do this, at least 900,000 tons of greenhouse gasses would be eliminated in an instant! And we can save around 50 to 80 bucks in electricity with this. Amazed? Believe it.

Paper, paper: Money, money. Sometimes, reusing is better than recycling like in the case of paper bags, paper cups, etc. Let’s stop using these paper products if we can have the reusable versions of them—just like “I am not a paper cup”. It’s a double-walled thermal ceramic cup that has re-sealable silicone lid perfect for steamy coffee or chilled lemonade. What’s great about it is that the cup’s reusable! An Eco-friendly cup that offers a bold statement to the world!

Organic is always the best. Believe it or not, even household chemicals such as cleaning agents, insecticides, even our shampoos and hairsprays can destroy the atmosphere. Instead use all-organic products like soda, lemon juice, vinegar, banana peel or baking soda.

Give a gift and spread the Word. The Money Grows on Trees, Pet Plant, and Global Warming Mug are just few of the perfect gifts we can give our friends or colleagues. It’s also a way to encourage them to help fight global warming.

Lastly, make it Earth Day everyday. Why wait for the next Earth Hour to happen before we cut down our energy consumption when we can observe it everyday? We don’t necessarily have to turn off our lights for one hour each day. We can practically just cut off our telly time to compensate other energy spending. Think green, be green, go green everyday!

More and more companies and organizations across the planet have rendered their support in the relentless fight against global warming. Nevertheless, going green within the perimeters of the offices alone will not be as good a fight as going green at home as well.

The 21 percent of America’s global warming pollution can be accounted to home energy alone. Having determined such great contribution to this persistent worldwide problem, it is just necessary to bring the energy prevention measures to the household as well.

Solutions to alleviate the effects of global warming are simple and easy. Here what you can do to beat the heat:
1)	Buy energy-efficient appliances. Start with your light bulb. Instead of the regular ones, you can buy energy-saving ones that cut your power consumption in a fraction of what you usually spend. Buy new electronic equipments and replace the old ones that you have at home. Old appliances such as air-condition units, fridge, washers, dryers and other electronic equipments tend to suck more electricity and pump out more pollution that causes global warming.

2)	Address the largest source of pollution—cars. Consider using hybrid cars instead of conventional ones. You not only slash the energy consumption in half but get a better mileage as well.

3)	Spread the word. Be proud to have turned green and spread the message that you are helping in this major drive to lessen global pollution that gradually destroys the planet Earth. Give your friends posters, stickers, button pins or the famous Global Warming Mug as reminders to save the world from being consumed by pollution.
