There’s a reason why many electronics and manufacturing companies are going green. One of the many advantages of doing so is because going green, aside from focusing on the materials’ recyclability, it also focuses on ont thins that would lure consumers towards buying these products — less energy consumption.

That’s the reason why there is a shift towards sub compact cars nowadays — they consume less gas. That feat is also is being exemplified in the audio industry as well as — OrigAudio or Origami Audio speakers are speakers that do not need a power source.

The OrigAudio speakers wouldn’t be the center of attention in parties, but for the people who would like to increase the volume of their music as they listen and go out on nature trips or braid each other’s hair, or tie die their shirts, the Origami Audio speakers is perfect for them.

The product is made of completely recyclable materials so that means they are not so heavy duty. But for calm and zen souls that wouldn’t be too much of an issue as they are careful not to disturb the balance of nature.

Custom designs of bees and birds and mother nature can also be sent to the producers of the OrigAudio speakers so that they can be printed on them.

When it comes to fun speakers, Gadgetepoint is a hot spot!

The Nintendo Wii’s dominance in the console gaming world has been an uncontested truth for the past 4 years. The Playstation 3 and the Microsoft Xbox 360 have been trying for years to best their competition, but with the Nintendo Wii entertaining casual gamers and getting a hust chunk of the market, the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360 could only look upon the Wii, admire it and try to see what it does differently.

The difference is obvious and Sony tries a different tone this time: if you can’t beat them, join them. Sony released the “PlayStation Move”, the motion control system of the PS3.Sony conceded that Nintendo might be right that it’s not always graphics and deeply engrossing storylines that gets gamers, sometimes it’s just plain, simple, fun. That’s what the Nintendo Wii banked on.

The Playstation Move lures gamers who have outgrown the Nintendo console, it’s trying to pick up where the Wii left off, and tries to do it better.

Peter Dillem senior vice president of marketing for Sony Computer Entertainment gives thanks to the guys in Nintendo for leading the way and “introducing motion gaming to the masses.”

Dille adds: “The migration path from the Wii household to the PlayStation 3 household is a pretty natural path, partly because of the experience that you can get on the PlayStation Move but also because of the content that we find on PlayStation 3,”

One of the great advantages of reading ebooks or through the internet is that you will be able to control the size of the letters of what you are reading, you can zoom in or zoom out, it really depends on your preference, apparently this feature cannot be found on everything else.

Newspapers are simply notorious for having font sizes that are way too small, and because of the tight spacing, you could be reading the same line over and over again, magnifying glasses do not give enough support either, they could only cover a few letters, not even enough to be a word and you’d have to move your hand to the next work, it’s a little too tiring that you might just give up reading.

You shouldn’t there are lot of gadgets that can help you out, The Wireless Page to TV Magnifier, again from Hammacher Schlemmer, can be the tool to help your struggling reading habits.

The easy to use device that looks like a computer mouse scans written materials and sends the scanned images wirelessly to a television, of course your electric bill will increase, not to mention it costs $149.95, but the gadget can zoom images up to 25X.

This is the magnifying glass of the new century.

Just like Hammacher Schlemmer, Gadgetepoint is a treasure chest of all other useful gadgets and whatnots.

How about letting your iPhone do the looking for you? UK dating site Lovestruck has recently made an iPhone app which lets the users find potential dates which are nearby. As a form of icebreaker, the app sends the potential dates an icebreaking electronic wink. IN the London area alone, Lovestruck has some 30,500 members. Pretty soon, the rest of the United Kingdom will get to experience the love hunting as the site plans to roll out in other UK cities.

The app works by first inputting your location by means of geotagging using the iPhone. Wherever you are, the app will you bring you its database.

Brett Harding of Lovestruck has this to say: “Picture this, you’re in a bar with your friends. Your iPhone vibrates in your pocket to let you know that a fellow Lovestrucker is either in the bar or fast approaching! Choosing to instantly wink or message them provides the perfect dating solution for busy single professionals.”

Pretty neat as it can help you look for love while you are waiting for your coffee in your local coffee shop. However, if you are on another date, the app can be switched off so that no Romeo can interfere with your date with your potential soulmate.

Have nothing to talk about? Pick up some inspired gifts over at Gadgetepoint, it’s a great way to break the ice. We have gifts and gadgets for you.

You want to know why? Because these diamonds are made of ice.

Imagine what these can do to a glass of scotch. A simple whiskey on the rocks may be the most elegant and extravagant drink at a party.

Even placing it in a glass of clear water will excite you visually. The downside of this gadget is seeing the diamond-shaped ice melt. Yes, perhaps diamonds are not forever.

But while they’re still there, these are just the hottest pieces of ice you can get — or are they?

Gadgetepoint’s ice glasses might be even cooler, they may not be as pretty to look at as the Diamond Ice Mold, but they sure are very useful.

You wouldn’t need to bother to add ice cubes in your drink if the glasses themselves are made of ice and think of the convenience of not having to clean up whenever you serve people drinks!

Plus, you wouldn’t feel too bad when your drunk friends break them, because your cocktail glasses are so inexpensive now, they’re practically free.

When we hear “waterproof speaker”, we think that the speaker itself can sustain or is impenetrable to water, but this new speaker called Music Planet from the Japanese company Idea Label, is designed to not only be water proof but it also bobs about in your bath tub or any surface of water.

The circular shape of the Music Planet and the material makes it bouyant, it’s a ball shaped MP3 player that will make your bath tub its new home.

If the perforated speaker part where the sound comes from is immersed in water, it can last up to 30 minutes for a meter’s depth. But that is unnecessary since the the Music Planet floats.

The device has an FM radio tuner, an alarm clock and speakers, it has a memory card slot and has a USB port.

Imagine all of the long hours you can spend lounging at your bath tub while listening to the most relaxing sounds, plus add scents of lavender and chamomile… that’s a nice idea for a new gadget, a floating speaker that is aromatic as well.

When we think of the word “deep fry”, we imagine golden brown, succulent, hot, and crispy food. Not to mention the fats and the cholesterol and all of the bad stuff that your doctor warned you about.

Either you let go of the mouth watering goodness of the deep fried french fry or in the infamous sizzling fried chicken or a severe heart attack by the age of six, but who said you have to choose? Doctors did, doctors do, and doctors will.

But there are some doctors that just might not stop you from indulging in your favorite fried food, if they were cooked using Hammacher Schlemmer’s deep frier which they claim as “The Healthiest Deep Fryer.”

Their name may tangle your tongue with its complexity first but their concept is pretty much simple, Hammacher Schlemmer’s “The Healthiest Deep Fryer” uses convection or the circulation of heated air to deep fry your favorite snacks and whatnot.

What’s special about “The Healthiest Deep Fryer” is that you only need to use a tablespoon of oil for 2lbs of french fries! Talk about healthy.

Hammacher Schlemmer explains how their product works and explains why less, virtually no oil is required:
An internal convection oven heats to 338º F and evenly circulates hot air to cook chicken wings, shrimp, or spring rolls with the same crunchy exterior and moist interior produced by conventional deep fryers.

“The Healthiest Deep Fryer” retails for $299.95.. That’s not a bad investment for health; other products that will give you a bang for your buck can be found at Gadgetepoint.

The word “Google” refers to a popular search engine, probably the most used search engine of the decade.

But that’s not the only meaning of Google, at least not anymore.

The capital city of Kansas, USA formerly known as Topeka, will be known as Google for the month of March.

You heard it right, the capital city of Kansas is now Google.

On March 1, 2010, Bill Buerten, incumbent mayor of the city of Topeka, Kansas made a proclamation for the 123,000 residents of the town that their place will be officially known as “Google, Kansas, the capital city of fiber optics.”

Was it a publicity stunt? Yes, and what a way to get noticed. This was to help “support continuing efforts to bring Google’s fiber experiment” to the capital city.

The town formerly known as Topeka, Kansas is bidding to be chosen as one of the 100 locations to take part in Google’s Fiber for Communities Programme, the chosen places will be the lucky few to be part of Google’s experiment.

Google would be trying a few things and rather than bore you with the details, the selected towns could get internet speeds that could even clock up to 1 gigabyte per second. “Wow” is an understatement.

If you find technology and gadgets interesting, Gadgetepoint is the place for you.

Since we’re already speaking of vacuums, here’s an item from Gadgetepoint that is inexpensive but the functionality of it is just remarkable — the USB Desk Vac.

Of course you can’t expect it to be a heavy duty vacuum cleaner, nor can you expect it to clean dog poo like the Pet Pooch Power System, but that doesn’t mean it’s less functional.

The USB Desk Vac proves that good things can come in small packages as the gadget is ideal for cleaning up the crevices of you computer, and because it’s USB powered, this combination is just plain kismet.

This mini vacuum cleaner plugs right into a USB port and eats and cleans the dust of your computer. And we all know how difficult it is to really clean a keyboard, the USB Desk Vac will clean even the hard to reach areas

The suction power of the device is just unimaginable for a gadget that is so small.

Plus it makes totally cool and realistic vacuum cleaner sounds.

Because it is a real vacuum cleaner — only much smaller, and much more handy.

The new game, dubbed as one of the darkest games which graced the Playstation 3 hits UK shops. The crime thriller has a very film noir effect to it. The director of Heavy Rain describes the game as one with dark themes and mature themes.

The story of Heavy Rain is something dark too. The game stars Ethan Mars, an architect who had lost his eldest son in a car accident, two years before the game began. Before the game, Ethan Mars had suffered a coma from the said car accident. He discovers that his estranged son is set to be the next victim of the Origami Killer, a notorious serial killer. Ethan goes to lengths to save Shaun.

The question wbich Heavy Rain poses is: “How far are you willing to go to save someone you love?”. The game is tense as it features and focuses heavily on the story and the emotional contact between the characters.

“In Heavy Rain you don’t watch the story, you play it with unprecedented responsibility over the fate of the game’s characters, the whole DNA of the game has been created to provide an emotional experience unlike any other. It dares you to tackle subject matter and themes rarely touched upon.” adds Mr. David Cage, the director of Heavy Rain.

If heavy and dark is not your thing, we have cute, inspired gift ideas over at Gadgetepoint.
