But don’t try it out just yet. Splashing water on to your electronic devices does a lot of things, and charging is not one of them. You need a device like Powertrekk to actually do the charging for you.
The Powertrekk is able to charge electronic devices through the hydrogen that is created by the water-based liquid and the sodium silicide cartriges.
One cartridge from the PowerTrekk fuel cell smartphone recharger can charge an iPhone for one and a half times the full battery and the charging may take around an hour or so.
But whether the PowerTrekk will be a popular item will be another issue, we’re guessing that it will be marketed to the outdoorsy types but at $200 plus for the system and $4 for a cartridge, the PowerTrekk needs to consider its price range for it to be totally competitive. As there are solar powered chargers that can do the job that the PowerTrekk does for less than a quarter of the price, not to mention that you have to spend another $4 for every charge.
It could be useful though in situations where electricity and sunlight are both unavailable.
save yourself from the hassle of recharging with some of the old school toys and gadgets from Gadgetepoint, who said you need batteries to have fun.

How much would you be willing to pay for the gift of memory? By memory, that means hard drive memory. With the prices of stored memory going down faster than you can say “5 Million dollars”, one of these days spending five million dollars on a box to store your precious memories would not be a farfetched idea.
This particular one is really just a terrabyte in memory but what makes it very expensive are the contents inside this five million dollar hard drive: five million dollars worth of pirated files. Software, movies, music, name it this hard drive has five million dollars worth of it. Five million dollars is the price if these files were to be downloaded legally.
Though the hard drive is really just a terrabyte in memory, it puts an emphasis on how much software pirates are actually getting when they download unlicensed, illegal stuff over the internet. A full list of the files can be found here.
Perhaps this is an art piece that supports SOPA pr the Stop Online Piracy Act.

With the barrage of tablet phones, android phones and the like, it seems that manufacturers have sacrificed aesthetics for a celfone’s functionality.
But the second leading smartfone manufacturer in Samsung does not neglect it’s obligations to the style-loving masses as it promises the release of the new Samsung Galaxy SkinThe new Skin features a flexible AMOLED display that can be snapped on to the wrist like a watch. So what’s new with a celfone watch? Well, how about a display that boasts 50% more brightness compared to even the latest smartphones? And did we hear that it’s unbreakable? Yep. If you all of a sudden decide to hammer your phone, Prof Haeseong Jee and Jye Yeon You, the phone’s developer guarantees that you wouldn’t regret it.
Rollable, bendable and survives a blow from a hammer. What more can the modern day klutz ask for?
The cellular fone is made of a new material, called “graphene” called the “miracle material” claimed to be unbreakable and “200 times stronger than structural steel.”
Of course, the fone is not only for aesthetics and durability, the high resolution 800×400 AMOLED display is equipped with an 8-mp camera powered by a 1Gb Ram and 1.2 gHz processor. Samsung is giving the Macbook Air a tough competition for this year’s most luxurious laptop. While many consider the Macbook Air to take this topmost honor, Samsung is making sure that before this year ends, Samsung will be sitting side by side with the Mac with this Samsung Series 9 laptop.
The Samsung Series 9 laptop is now on a limited edition Moonlight Blue and Rose Gold colors. While Apple only comes in black and white, Samsung knows that this is something to up the competition. Though the sad part is that these colors are initially available in South Korea tagged with a $2507 price. What makes this laptop so luxurious is the distinguishable 188 Swarovski crystal pattern added on the cover and a necklace given with each purchase.
The following are the specification for the Samsun Series 9:
Duralumin construction (twice as strong as standard Aluminium)
13.3″ SuperBright Plus widescreen LED backlit display, 400-nit brightness
2nd Gen. Intel Core i5-2537M and Core i7-2617M low-voltage processors (dual-core)
Intel HD Graphics 3000 integrated graphics
4GB DDR3 RAM
128GB/256GB SSD or solid state drive storage only
No optical drive built-in
USB, MicroSD, HDMI, LAN, headphone and microphone ports
1.3MP HD webcam
802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth V3.0 High Speed, LAN
6-Cell Lithium (6300 mAh) battery, up to 7 hours of battery life
0.6 inches thick, 1.61kg weight
There are only about 300 units for each color so when this laptop claims limited edition, it means limited edition.

Lego Friends is created to get your little girl excited and engrossed in the wonderful world of Lego toys. Their latest addition, and quite controversial, addition is the Lego Friends–a set of Lego toys created for girls.

The Lego Friends feature five female friends in different girl-friendly scenarios such as a salon and a bakery.
What makes the Lego Friends more girl-friendly apart from their color and the clothes that they have is the fact that they have boobs. Many parents are not too keen about this idea. Many had raised questions on why Lego even actually needs boobs and is too bent on gender-stereotyping.
Many moms (and some dads) are furious about the idea that these Lego toys are pink and they feature girls who do old-fashioned girly things. There are even parents who tweet with the hashtag #LiberateLegos over at the social networking site, Twitter.
“Please respect the fact that girls have brains and imaginations that extend far beyond the ‘pink’ stereotypes—and that stereotypes place unfair, unequal and unproductive limits on both sides,” tweeted one parent using the hashtag.
Lego has yet to release a comprehensive statement regarding this issue. Although many Lego defenders consider the outcries as baseless and over-reacting.
We wonder whether you think this is the case. Is there something wrong for pink Legos for girls?
Gadgetepoint makes it a point that our toys appeal for both girls, boys and the young at heart. Check out remote control toys which can be for both girls and boys.

Transformer – an apparatus used for reducing or increasing the voltage of an alternating current.
While this may be the real meaning of the word, everyone living in the 20th century can not help but relate the word Transformer to the line of Toy Robots by Hasbro, the multinational toy and boardgame company from the US. What with the three-movie franchise by Michael Bay, Transformers had become a household name.
To be reminded of its popularity, perhaps, Asus named one of its tablets the Asus Transformers. People will inevitably think of the robots when they hear the word, but since the word itself has nothing to do with the line of toys with Hasbro and can refer to the electric device used for alternating currents, Hasbro can not run after Asus solely because of the name.
But Asus may have gone too far as its most recent tablet, the Asus Transformer Prime is named too close to one of Hasbro’s robots. While the current trademark separates toy robots to computers–thus is not covered by the law–Hasbro believes that Asus has infringed their copyrights as the Hasbro line of robots is expanding and may expand to computers and gadgets in the near future.
While there is currently no development on the case as of writing, seeking damages as well as a temporary injunction on the Transformer Prime which has recently been released in the market.
This is too much hassle on both sides. This may even hinder the Holiday sales of both companies–especially for Asus.

It seems that it’s Christmas time over at Twitter as Saudi Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud and his Kingdom Holding Company invested $300 million dollars on the social networking site.
“Our investment in Twitter reaffirms our ability in identifying suitable opportunities to invest in promising, high-growth businesses with a global impact,” Prince Alwaleed said about the investment.
The 26th richest man in the world seem to be investing a lot on media and entertainment related companies as he is known to have interests in several media outfits in Saudi Arabia, among some of these are Citicorp and the Saudi Research and Marketing Group (SRMG) in which he holds roughly 30% of its shares.
The brilliant idea was not all his alone as Prince Alwaleed’s team is passionate on the media industry. “We believe that social media will fundamentally change the media industry landscape in the coming years,” Eng. Ahmed Halawani, KHC Executive Director of Private Equity and International Investments shares.
There is no denying that the $300 million investment will greatly benefit the microblogging service, but it is yet to be confirmed on how this will affect how things will go with Twitter.
The Saudi Prince does not even own a twitter account, but his wife Princess Ameera Al-Taweel is one of Saudi Arabia’s most famous tweeters as she has over 83,000 followers.
Unlike the prince, not all of us has that kind of money to spend on things we love. Christmas is a hard time for our pockets so we have to make better financial decisions. Gadgetepoint is a nice place to find coold gadgets at very affordable prices.

Personal computers have evolved from the stationary desktops, the muscle laptops that can compensate for the desktop’s workload, the more portable notebooks and the lightweight, extremely mobile netbooks.
And if you’ve noticed, nowadays everyone has their own netbook. Some uses it as their primary computer while others have the luxury to switch between the more powerful laptops. But why would they? Because the netbooks are mainly for word processing, reading files and obviously for surfing the net. The heavy work still has to be shouldered by the bulkier and more feature packed laptops.
But what if we have a device that has both qualities? The portability of the netbook married to the power of a laptop? Did I hear you say Macbook Air? Well, that would have been a great idea if they didn’t pennypinch on the memory that reminded us of the laptops in the early 2000s. What we’re talking about are the ultrabooks—the real deal.
Ultrabooks, as CNET.com have branded them, are the new netbooks. And these lightweight gizmos have already graced us with their presence in 2011. All we have to wait for is for is for their prices to come down to a more earthly level and watch their performance get better.
Be it the affordable Acer Aspire S Ultrabook or the functional Asus Zenbook, or maybe the flashier Toshiba Portege Z, you know we at GadgetEpoint will cover the news for you!
